Last week, we said Victor made himself sick from eating too much. After he recovered, the new semester in the Happy Forest began.
But in the very first math class, everyone looked quite worried. After class, Teacher Rolin smiled and said, “Math this semester is difficult, isn’t it? Don’t worry. If you have any questions, just come ask me.”
Upon hearing this, Iris was the first to bring her textbook up to the teacher, and she had many questions. Jimmy and Junior came up right after that, and there was soon a long line.
Only Andrew didn’t go up to ask questions. He gathered his things, packed his bags and left the classroom.
The next day in math class, Teacher Rolin wrote a problem on the blackboard: 3+6×2=？
“This is from our lesson yesterday. Who can answer it?” Iris, Jimmy and Junior all tried to be first to answer, and quickly raised their hands. This was the problem they asked about yesterday, so they naturally had the confidence to answer.
But Teacher Rolin turned suddenly, and his eyes fell on Andrew, sitting there quietly. “Andrew, you didn’t come ask me any questions yesterday, so does that mean you know the answer?” Andrew’s face turned red.
“I don’t know the answer.”
Iris stared. “If you can’t solve the problem, why didn’t you ask about it yesterday?” Andrew’s face turned even redder.
“I was embarrassed. I thought if you knew I didn’t understand, that you would laugh at me.”
Then Teacher Rolin really did laugh. “Andrew, why would I laugh? If you have a question, you must ask the teacher. Don’t be shy. Do not pretend you understand if you don’t. That’s the only thing worth laughing about. Studying is about solving problems. Only by asking questions will you be able to keep learning. Understand?”
Andrew nodded and admitted, “Teacher Rolin, I can’t solve this problem. Can you teach me?” Teacher Rolin smiled and helped Andrew with it.
After math class was art class, which everyone was looking forward to. What will happen there? We’ll find out next week.
